Patience

pa·tience

What does Patience mean?

Trusting the timeline of things that can't be hurried. Patience is staying calm while time does its work.

Another way of seeing Patience

A seed's first and most important work happens underground, where no one can see it. For weeks it looks as though nothing is happening. Then it breaks the surface, and everyone assumes the growth has just begun. So much of what matters works like that: skill, trust, healing, love. Impatience doesn't speed it up. It only makes the waiting hurt.

Patience in relationships

Everyone you love is growing at their own pace, and so are you. Patience is giving them the time you'd want to be given.

Patience in everyday life

When you feel the rush today — the slow queue, the loading bar, the person taking too long — take one slow breath and let the delay be a pause rather than a battle.

Carry this with you

Slow is not the same as stuck.
