Strength

strength

What does Strength mean?

The capacity to hold weight — physical, emotional, moral. Strength keeps you standing, and knows when to let you sit down.

Another way of seeing Strength

We picture strength as force: lifting more, pushing harder, never crying. But some of the strongest things a person can do look soft from the outside — asking for help, admitting fear, walking away from a fight you could win. Rigid things snap. Real strength includes knowing when not to use it.

Strength in relationships

Being strong for someone doesn't always mean holding everything together. Sometimes it means letting them see you struggle, so they know they're allowed to as well.

Strength in everyday life

Do one thing for your body's strength today — the stairs, a stretch, a walk. Then one thing for your inner strength: the question you've been avoiding asking.

Carry this with you

Strength knows when to rest.
